500+ Kiwibots Roll Out to 26 College Campuses

Not since the Triple Lindy has going back to school been so exciting!

If you’ll remember back in February, Kiwibot announced a $7.5M Pre-Series A round of funding that foodservice operator Sodexo participated in. At the time of the investment Kiwi and Sodexo said they planned to have 1,200 delivery robots running around 50 U.S. college campuses by the end of this year.

This week, Brett Grove, Senior Sales Manager for Sodexo posted the following update on Linkedin:

Fall semester is just around the corner and college campuses are taking action to prepare for the arrival of their students. Well guess what else! Sodexo and Kiwibot are also working hard to deploy our highly innovated and advanced delivery robots to college campuses. We just deployed a new fleet of these friendly little guys to 18 more campuses! Bringing the total to 500+ robots active on 26 college campuses around the country! We are excited about finding new ways to leverage technology to support our students and faculty. With this partnership we will "strengthen to accelerate the transformation of its food model in US Universities."

More than 500 is not quite halfway to 1,200 with less than half of the year left, so I reached out to Kiwibot to see if they were still on track.
