The News

  • The AC Hotel Miami Dadeland announced today that it will offer guests robot-powered food delivery, via a partnership with Cartken.

  • Guests will use the FanFood app to place an order from participating restaurants in the nearby Dadeland mall. Cartken’s robot will retrieve the food and bring it back to the hotel lobby for guests to pickup.

  • Robot delivery could open up new amenities for hotels that don’t have the resources or space to offer room service.

The Story

To our knowledge, this deal between the AC Hotel and Cartken is a first between a hotel and a robot delivery company — but it illustrates how hotels could be huge customers and beneficiaries of food robotics. Robots can open up new amenities for hospitality companies like the AC Hotel, without a massive investment or build out.
