The News

  • Beewise announced today that it has raised an $80 million Series C round of funding. Insight Partners led the round, with participation from Fortissimo Capital, Corner Ventures, lool ventures, Atooro Fund, Meitav Dash Investments Ltd, and Sanad Abu Dhabi. This brings total amount raised by Beewise to more than $120 million.

  • Beewise makes a robotic beehive that monitors the health of a hive and protects it from pests, predators and some natural disasters like fire and flooding.

  • Beewise’s raise comes at a time when more than 30 percent of bee colonies are collapsing each year.

The Story

You might think beekeeping is a little far afield for a publication covering food robotics. But the cold hard truth is no bees → no plant pollinating → no food. So, uhh, yes, let’s do what we can to help bee colonies everywhere.

With its fresh funding, Beewise aims to do just that — with a little help from precision robotics.
