Koop is Building an Insurance Company for Delivery Robots and Other Autonomous Vehicles
We are moving from human-driven risk to machine-driven risk.
Here’s a fun fact about me. I wrote a feature-length screenplay back in 2005 about an insurance company in a world full of superheros. The script even got optioned and had a director attached to it and everything, but… like so many Hollywood dreams, my li’l script never went anywhere.
But I think about insurance and liabilities a lot. Like — a lot, a lot. That probably has something to do with my dad being a lawyer. Anyway, if you’re with a startup building delivery robots, you (or your lawyers) have hopefully started thinking about your own liabilities because one day your robot is going to run into something or someone, and you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the right insurance.
A startup called Koop might just be the company you buy it from.
