OttOmate Joins the Curbivore Family!
I teased the big/good news last week, and I can finally reveal what it is. I’m SUPER THRILLED to announce that OttOmate is now part of Curbivore!
Running OttOmate over the past year and a half has been amazing and the best way to keep it going — and growing, to make a rhyme — was to partner up with an organization like Curbivore.
If you’re unfamiliar with Curbivore, here’s a snippet from their official description:
Commerce is moving to the curb at an ever-accelerating rate, and the new normal relies on delivery & pickup, and on retrofitting curbs, sidewalks, & disused real estate into civic spaces that work to serve everyone. Curbivore’s annual conference and regular industry meetups gathers leaders from the public and private sectors working to advance these shifts, and now “The Curbivore” offers weekly insights into the most important developments driving the curbside revolution.
Suffice it to say, robotics and automation is changing the delivery of food and moves it closer to the “curb,” whether that’s through delivery robots, vending machines or delivery robots that are vending machines.
Curbivore’s Jonah Bliss has really put together a top-notch information source about the changing nature of the food journey. In addition to the site, you’re hard-pressed to find a better in-person conference for this subject.
Not for nothing, he’s also a super cool, honest guy who has been a joy to work with in this process.
What does this mean for OttOmate?
As the dust settles, we’ll have some more exciting details to share, but overall this means OttOmate will be better equipped to keep bringing you news and analysis on the food automation space. Readers can expect not only expanded coverage into related food tech fields like dark kitchens and virtual brands, as well as regular events (both in-person and virtual) for our readers. Curbivore has the resources, the know-how and the infrastructure to help OttOmate grow much better than I could on my own.
What do you need to do?
Nothing! OttOmate will continue to come to your inbox. It will still deliver analysis you’ve come to trust.
What am I going to do?
I’ll still be poking around to help ensure a smooth transition and who knows? Maybe you’ll even see me on-stage, asking questions.
Before we end this issue, I want to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to Jonah and the whole Curbivore crew. I’m so excited to see what happens with OttOmate.
Thanks for reading! Stay cool. Have a great summer. Class of ‘90 rulez.
