Piestro Triestros for Back of House
At some point, it would probably make sense for me to just write a newsletter devoted to pizza automation (check out my pizza robot market guide!). There is so much happening in that space, and, well, pizza is delicious and I would gladly sacrifice all of my free time tasting robot-made pizzas from around the world in the pursuit of helping you, dear reader (← so altruistic!).
Yesterday, Piestro shook up the automated pizza space by announcing it too is developing a back of house robot. Piestro CEO, Massimo Noja De Marco posted an image of the robot along with a message on Linkedin:
The announcement marks a bit of shift for Piestro, which is best known for its consumer-facing robot pizza vending machine that tops and cooks pizzas on demand.
I reached out to De Marco to see if I could get a few more details, but haven’t heard back yet. I’m a big fan of Piestro’s tech (and pizza!), but upon reading this news, I couldn’t help by think of Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park:
Yeah, but your scientists were so so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.
