SCOOP: DoorDash Shuts Down Chowbotics
DoorDash acquired Chowbotics last year, says roughly 35 people will be laid off.

Sorry for the second email blast, but I got this scoop yesterday and it was too big to sit on for another week.
Third-party delivery service, DoorDash is shutting down Chowbotics, the food robotics company DoorDash acquired in February of last year. If you visit the Chowbotics page (screengrabbed above), you are greeted with a message saying DoorDash is ceasing operations of the DoorDash business.
A DoorDash provided me with this statement last night:
“We have decided to cease operation of the Chowbotics business, effective August 31st, 2022. At DoorDash, we create an environment to build new products and set high standards to determine when to scale, continue, or cut back investments. We're always looking for new ways to serve our merchants, exceed consumers' increasingly higher expectations, and complement our logistics infrastructure.”
That rep followed up with me this morning with a few more details, saying:
