Serve Robotics Grows in Q1
PDD pioneer Serve Robotics just released its Q1 2024 results, marking its first quarter as a publicly traded company. Revenue climbed to $946,711, up from just $40,252 a year prior, with $850k of that from its licensing deal with Magna International. Daily active robots climbed from 23 to 39, while daily supply hours nearly doubled to 300.
Gatik Partners with Isuzu for Mass Production
Gatik, maker of middle-mile focused autonomous trucks, hit a major manufacturing milestone. It’s teaming up with Japanese OEM Isuzu, to build its SAE Level 4 vehicles, with operations expected in 2027. As part of the deal, Isuzu is also investing $30 million into Gatik, which boasts Walmart and Kroger as customers.
Starship Celebrates One Year in Finland
Estonian delivery bot heavyweight Starship Technologies just hit its one year anniversary in nearby Finland, where it’s been working with local retail giant S Group. Over the past year, Starship has made over 150,000 deliveries — not bad for a country of 5.6 million — with groceries being the most popular use case. The two companies plan to expand the partnership to cover 100 stores by year’s end.
Waymo Hits 50,000 Paid Trips per Week
Waymo’s commercial operations just hit an impressive milestone, as the Alphabet-backed company is now providing 50,000 paid trips per week, which breaks down to around 5 trips per minute. Waymo’s paid operations are now live in parts of Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles, with the company ferrying both passengers and Uber Eats deliveries.
