Video: ROBOjuice Previews its Upcoming Smoothie Blending Bot
The humanoid robot makes a smoothie in 60 seconds.
ROBOJuice posted a video on Linkedin yesterday previewing its robot-powered smoothie making kiosk that will debut in January.
We don’t have a ton of details about the machine other than it uses a humanoid robot to manipulate cups through the automated process. As shown in the video, the kiosk only offers two frozen ingredients, one dry ingredient and one type of liquid (the mockup image on the company’s website sports canisters holding many more ingredients). Once cups are filled, a blender whips up the smoothie and cleans itself while the robot arm serves the drink.
According to ROBOjuice’s website, it is able to make a smoothie in 60 seconds.
I first covered ROBOjuice back in 2020, and at the time the company said it was different from other humanoid robots on the market because it used hydraulic arms, which were cheaper. I reached out to ROBOjuice to find out if this was still the case, and to find out more details about the forthcoming robot.
ROBOjuice will need to bulk up its feature set if it wants to compete with Blendid, another robotic smoothie kiosk. Based solely on what we see in ROBOjuice’s video, Blendid offers more variety in its menu. Blendid also already has multiple locations running — two of which are co-branded with Jamba and has raised more than $3 million in crowdfunding campaigns this year.
