Will Caper Counter's Cashierless Checkout at Fenway Be a Swing and a Miss?
There are other frictionless retail options available right now.
Instacart announced yesterday that it has installed Caper Countertop cashierless checkout systems at Boston’s Fenway Park (Instacart bought Caper Labs last year). The new tech will be available in three locations and is being done in partnership with Aramark Sports + Entertainment, which provides food and beverage to nin Major League Baseball stadiums.
Listen, I’m a huge believer in cashierless checkout at stadiums and arenas. It lets people buy stuff faster and get back to their seats without missing any action. I just don’t think Caper’s cashierless tech is necessarily the best solution out there for stadiums.
