The Know inBot Barista Robot Does 300 Lattes (with Art!) a Day

As more robot baristas come to market, it will be harder for them to differentiate themselves. They will all offer unattended retail experiences, with contactless delivery, cost containment through precision and less waste, and the ability to crank out hundreds of consistent drinks a day.

Beijing-based Know Intelligent Technology’s InBot barista appears to be setting itself apart through latte art. Know, which was founded in 2019 to build AIoT projects, has infused the InBot barista with artificial intelligence to replicate the actions of human baristas.

There are two InBot Barista models: The P Series, which is a rectangular kiosk, and the T Series, which is slightly smaller, round and has a video screen. Both models use Eversys coffee machines, sport dual robotic arms and Know’s inBot OS which, according to the company sales deck is an:

intelligent learning system, which has integrated vision-guided robotic arms, motion control algorithms, and a perception and decision-making system.…
