Ramen Robots are Hot! Japanese Chain Hidakaya Using Server Robots at 50 Locations

Listen, I swear I’m not turning OttOmate into newsletter all about automated ramen (though how rad would that be?). It just so happens robot-related ramen, specifically robot ramen in Japan has been in the news over the past month.
We kicked off March with a story on Nissan’s ramen-carrying car that dropped off order on a restaurant countertop. Then Yo-Kai launched its ramen vending machine at Haneda airport last week (then we learned a few more details about it). And over the weekend, SoraNews24 posted a story about a robot server at now running at the Hidakaya chain of ramen restaurants in Japan.
Server robots are nothing new at this point, but for a country with a greying population like Japan, we could be near a tipping point with food-related automation.
